Mr. Coyle has over 40 years of experience in the commercial aviation industry. He joined the Altavair Technical Group in 2023 to lead the Aircraft Transitions and Technical Support functions, before moving into the role of Head of Technical in January 2024. In this role, he is responsible for all technical matters including transitions, conversions, asset/lease evaluation, asset/lease management, technical cash flow forecasts, technical aspects of contract documents, and technical negotiations. Mr. Coyle started his career as an apprentice aircraft maintenance technician with Aer Lingus in Dublin in 1983 and, after qualification, gained experience in aircraft line maintenance, heavy maintenance, component overhaul shops, aircraft planning and records, and then eventually in IT in TEAM Aer Lingus. After Aer Lingus, he joined a UPS owned MRO based in Shannon and held a number of roles including planning, engineering, spares and materials management and eventually as their Sales and Marketing Manager. Mr. Coyle started his aircraft leasing career with AerCap in 2006 as VP Technical and rising to the Head of Technical for the EMEA and APAC regions beginning in 2010. He later joined Seraph Aviation Management Limited (formerly known as Volito) in 2013 as its Chief Technical Officer, where he was responsible for the technical aspects of leasing. In addition, he was responsible for the pricing and underwriting of the technical cashflows associated with the acquisition of aircraft for Seraph’s various customers. In addition to numerous technical qualifications, Mr. Coyle holds a Diploma in Manufacturing Management from the Irish Management Institute and an MBA in Aviation Management from the University of Limerick.
